This morning I introduced myself to a homeless woman I saw on my way to work. She said her name was Mary. She was sitting on a blanket on the sidewalk. We agreed that I’d bring her a sandwich and a piece of fruit tomorrow morning. I forgot to ask her if she wanted mayo or mustard.
I see a lot of homeless people every day on my way to work. I am normally very uplifted in the mornings, but my heart always breaks every time I pass the two or three blocks where they set up camp, which is where I met Mary.
